Happy Birthday Miffy!

What a loooooooooooong day.
Finally at last chapter for chemistry! Woots! Here's a little test.
Q: Nonanoic acid + Ethanol = ?
A: Ethyl nonanoate + water :)
Wa... Organic Chemistry is so diverse! Just Google the name of a carboxylic acid and you get bombarded with all sorts of acids... Here are a few.

Propane-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid
alpha-Cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid
Imidazol-4-one-5-propionic acid
2-Methyl-3-oxopropanoic acid

Teck Li: If molecules with over 1000 carbon atoms are called macromolecules, then are molecules with less than 1000 carbon atoms called micromolecules?
Teck Li(to Chester): C-H-Ester!!

Q: Who is Ester?
A: Chester's sister.

Got a 22 for the circular measure test. Because I didn't read the question carefully, I lost 2 marks... sianz.
Vector test today. I really hope that there weren't any more careless mistakes... I am so sick of them.

Lol Miffy's birthday today. Is she 26? Or 28? Can't remember. Eh, who go draw the free lunch on the board ah?

According to Mr Ong, the mini sumo robotics competition is counted as points for the CCA record. So now I have to go and find Mr Chia for the points to retain my B3.

D&T was actually productive today. Took the measurements for the artefact and put them into my main working drawing. Then I drew two more drawings for separate parts. Couldn't draw any more due to a lack of pre-prepared paper. And I found out that we are due to hand in all our work by the end of August. At least there's still time. But no hope for someone who's contracted the D&T disease. Jkjk. I not so bad one.
Seems as though all I have to do for the Journal is to use oversized font and huge pictures to reach 60+ pages easily.

84 more days to go...

Bright and sunny.

Woke up at 0524 hrs today. I noticed that recently, I have been waking up at around this time without the need for any sort of alarm. And again, when I woke up, I didn't feel sleepy. Maybe this means that I'm getting enough sleep! But I still have these persistent eyebags. They've been with me for like what, over 3 years already? I really want to get rid of them... anyone have any tips?

Dabao-ed a Egg McMuffin Meal with tea to school. For some reason, I find that I am beginning to prefer this over the Sausage McMuffin with Egg. If only McDonalds sold Egg McMuffins without eggs... Hmm, why does that sound familiar? Oh yeah. Who wants A McChicken without the chicken? Or a Filet-O-Fish without the fish? :D

Haha, so like every monday, we had assembly. Except that this one was delayed for goodness knows what reason. The teachers didn't arrive till 0835 hrs.
This marked the start of a very looooooooooong assembly period.
Mdm 'Sharifah'(at least I think it's spelled like that)/Aljunied told us about our agenda for the National Day celebrations. At first I thought we were going to just study, but it turns out that we'll be headed to RI for some event. The students seem to pay attention to her whenever she's speaking. Maybe its because she cuts across as a figure of authority. Then some guy got on stage and practically shouted into the microphone while telling us about the event. Jeez, is everyone deaf or what?He was bellowing so loudly that the floor was vibrating.
So anyway, he told us that the event was a 'first of its kind' and that we would be able to stand on roads while the police blocked the vehicles for us. Then later he contradicted himself by saying that no one would be allowed to stand on the road, and that we would all have to stand on the pavement. Sheesh.
Then we were told about the Straits Times Pocket Money Fund. I know its great, and I would gladly give half of my daily allowance to the fund. Except for a few things. They were appealing on the assumption that each one of us gets $100-$200 a month. Sadly, I only get $80. Not that I'm complaining. Those on the fund get only $60. The irony is, if I donated to the fund, I would end up having less than those on the fund.
Then some people in charge of the prom (I think) informed us that there had been a screw-up (not their actual words) and those those going had to pay an extra $10. Good thing I'm not going.
... and then we were bombarded with yet more announcements. Among them was the plea for more contestants for the Ngee Ann... Talenttime? I dunno.

It appears as though everyone in the class got bronze for an inter-school on-the-spot chinese calligraphy competition. Unfortunately, we were forced to cancel it because we couldn't "take credit" for his work. So about a quarter of the class got demoted down to a B for their CCA grade. Tsk Tsk.
Checking with Mr Ong tomorrow regarding the mini sumo robot.

Because of a stupid careless mistake, I didn't manage to get full marks for the kinematics test
:( :( :( Stupid Stupid. Oh well, I'll just treat this as yet another lesson to learn from. Vector test tomorrow...

Zzzz... Took me hours to get the stupid working drawing done correctly with all the dimensions to scale. And YAY! It looks perfect. Luckily I already draw the presentation drawing liao. But I don't want to colour it cos I scared screw up. The scanner isn't working, so cannot back up.

I still remember that when I got into Ngee Ann, I told myself that I would stop slacking, and put my best into everything I did. This I failed for the first two years of secondary school, and much of sec 3. Good thing I'm much better now in Sec 4. I think it part of the reason why I improved was because I skipped CO to concentrate on my studies. It appears to be paying off now. I just hope that I will be able to get what I want for the 'O' levels. And it's f**king retarded that even if I score straight A1s for the 'O's, I still won't be able to get into VJC. So much for 'Equal Opportunity for All'.

Which reminds me, I need to revise my SS. And chemistry. And biology. And A.Math. And... and...

85 more days to go...

Zzzzzzzz.....

My arms are aching a little. Wonder why?

My brain is burning up trying to think of stuff to put in the D&T Journal.

Still haven't finished writing the 3 mock bio SPA Ms Kum set us.

Gotta go.

Friday.

Again. It's drawing closer...
Modulus test today. So-so I guess. Didn't understand what they meant by the range of the function.
Dashed down for PE after the test. But the rest of the class were nowhere to be seen, so Mr Teo started to get a little irritated after 20 min... In the end, I had to go and check and voila! They were waiting at the chin-up area. So I shouted for them to go over to the makeshift hall, and there was some sort of commotion. Whatever.
When they all finally arrived at the hall, Mr Teo told us that because they took so long to come here, there was not enough time left for all the boys to do chin-ups. So we were allowed to play our own games (again). Because we were so bored, we went over to the chin-up area to practise chin-ups.
Surprise, surprise. I managed to do two before letting go!!!! :D :D :D :D And did another 2 later. And WJ couldn't even lift up his body. Haha. Loser. jkjk XP Nicholas is a complete freak. He did 14 chin-ups (proper ones!) in a row!! OMG!!! Who knew he had it in him?

The talk by Ngee Ann Poly was a little boring... But at least I managed to stay awake despite the freezing temperature. Sometimes it's better not to turn on the air-conditioning.

I feel much better now that I can do chin-ups. Must train... even though there isn't a place for me to.

O levels...

O levels...

O levels...

O levels...

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

Haha. Woke at 0530 hrs today (again). Had some strange dream about Pokemon Diamond & Pearl and Emerald. Something about a giant arena/shrine. Lots of shadows of zombies were milling around, and the entire place was structurally impossible.

So the A.Math test is tomorrow, not today. I wonder who told me that it was today... Mrs Pong still hasn't finished marking our kinematics test scripts. :( Must practise questions for tomorrow's test...
Got back the test on similarity of triangles. To my non-surprise, I got a 20. Oh well. I really need to try and understand similarity and apply it. It's one of the concepts that still eludes me.

Ms Zahra wasn't here today. So no bling-bling. We had to write an article/speech/letter. I'm actually glad for this opportunity. Haven't written one in many a year. Maybe we should tell Ms Zahra to stop giving us those 'planning' worksheets and force us to write essays. I'm sure our standards will improve tremendously.

Had to write the mock Chem SPA Skill 3. Forgot the colour of Universal Indicator in different pH levels, so had to improvise and use methyl orange instead. And I'm not sure I got it correct.

Had a plate of rice with tofu and one fish fillet piece for $1.50. I still can't understand why people find canteen food detestable. It's easy on the belt (figuratively speaking) and doesn't taste like complete muck.
WTF!!! Siew mai for $0.50!!! That's like a complete rip-off. Next time won't buy liao. Sandwiches are better.

As usual, english mock exam during EPP. Mdm Noor is so funny sometimes. The first time she caught jon sitting at cheng boon's place and reprimanded him for it. The second time, she queitly opened the door by a creek and slowly slither- I mean walked up to jon, who had went back to sitting at CB's place. Made me lol.

Going crazy trying to think of what to put into the D&T journal. Sometimes I wonder why I took the subject. Too late for regrets now.

Sigh... Chin-ups tomorrow. :( I hope I can do at least one...

I'm still alive.

This blog is not dead. Far from it. It's just that I've been a little busy these few days.

Woke up at 0530 hrs, then went back to sleep and awoke at 0632 hrs. I remember I had a strange dream (again) in which Mrs Pong was dressed very differently and the whole class was back in the 3r4 classroom. She confiscated my handphone, but I later found it in my pocket. I also remember that I told myself that I was dreaming, and mentally pinched myself. I think it hurt.

Sausage McMuffin and Egg Meal for breakfast with justin today. This meant that I don't have any more $$$ to spend this week. I would have liked to sit in mac till 0810, sadly, the weather didn't permit it. The heavens opened upon us as we tried to make our way back to school while remaining relatively dry. So we had to take the really long way round to the back gate of the school. My shoes got wet from stepping in a huge puddle at the gate. Yucks.

SS was supposed to be interesting, but it wasn't. I wonder when we will get to sit in the AVA Theatre with r5 again, but it doesn't seem to be anytime soon. So the class had to do a SBCS on the Korean naval conflict. The sources were somewhat like this:

/start loop/
You started it!
No, you did! Your ships crossed the NLL!
Says who?
My country's radar.
Hmph! My country's ships did not cross the NLL. Yours did and even fired on us!
I have proof that your fishing boats crossed the NLL. Here!
This is absolute trash. An obvious fabrication! You started it!
/continue loop/

Mrs Teh said that we will be able to finish the syllabus soon. I really want to believe that, but from the looks of it, it might not be possible. We only just finished alcohols. Now I know what the reactions are with metals, bases and carbonates. It's exactly the same as a regular acid. Except that the formulae might be a little longer. Ok. A lot longer. Wonder what the 9th alcohol is called. Nonanol? XD

Did the mock spa that we wrote for bio. The experiment was actually pretty easy, I didn't encounter and problems whilst performing it. 'Cept that Ms Kum shouted like a mad bitch at the start of th experiment 'cause the class was so noisy. And at least 4 people did the same mistake, one after the other. Involved heating the alcohol directly... BOOM!!

Is there an A.Math test tomorrow?

Dear <subject name here>

This was a triumph
I'm making a note here
HUGE SUCCESS
It's hard to overstate
My satisfaction
Aperture Science
We do what we must
Because we can
For the good of all of us
Except the ones who are dead
But there's no sense crying
Over every mistake
You just keep on trying
Till you run out of cake
And the Science gets done
And you make a neat gun
For the people who are
still alive

I'm not even angry
I'm being so sincere right now
Even though you broke my heart
And killed me
And tore me to pieces
And threw every piece into a fire
As they burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data make a beautiful line
And we're out of beta
We're releasing on time
So I'm GLaD. I got burned
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are
still alive

Go ahead and leave me
I think I prefer to stay inside
Maybe you'll find someone else
To help you
Maybe Black Mesa
THAT WAS A JOKE. FAT CHANCE.
Anyway, this cake is great
It's so delicious and moist
Look at me still talking
when there's Science to do
When I look out there
it makes me GLaD I'm not you
I've experiments to run
There is research to be done
On the people who are
still alive
And believe me I am
still alive
I'm doing Science and I'm
still alive
I feel FANTASTIC and I'm
still alive
While you're dying I'll be
still alive
And when you're dead I will be
still alive

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

is a word that is complete nonsense.

Not exactly a very productive day.
We used baby catfish for bio SPA today. Surprisingly, most of the class arrived within 9 minutes. So we spent like 15-20 minutes between trying to figure out how to set up the experiment and actually doing it. Then that WJ had to go and drop the boiling tubes. Luckily there was no fish in there. Sadly, a lot of other people did drop their boiling tubes and kill the catfish. Why? Because we had to perform a silly balancing act with our boiling tubes. I think there was a 62% probability that any one of our test tubes would have dropped again if there had been a slight bump. Teck Yang's set-up is the BEST. Four tubes balanced precariously on top of the test-tube rack. I bet all of them would drop given the slightest of nudges.
*nudge*
*drops*
"Teck Yang, what did you drop this time?"
XD

A.Math test was actually pretty easy. I think. Except for the part about "State the value for which v approaches as t becomes very large". I wrote some crap for that.

According to my CCA records, I'm in the Arts and Innovation Club? o.0 And I entered a National Inter-School On-the-Spot Chinese Calligraphy & Painting Competition...? Won 3rd placing...? Strange how I can't recall that. What I do recall, however, is this: I (along with Cheng Boon and Esrinda) participated in Robotics Challenge 2008 (Mini-Sumo Robot) and we were the runner-up. Weird how that isn't reflected. When I said I wanted to check the CB's and E's records to see if they had the robotics thing too... I was told by mr lee that 'it's not my business'. Hmph.

Had a dream about the old gang. (Note: do not take the word 'gang' at face value) Maybe it's because I miss all of their company. But they have new friends now, and so do I. I think.

Stress Stress Stress

The title is self-explanatory.
Life is starting to get a weeny bit stressful.

Breakfast at Tiffany's... I mean McDonald's. Had a Sausage McMuffin with Egg... since I was getting a bit sick of always having the Sausage McMuffin. Went there at ~ 0714 hrs, and didn't emerge till 0752 hrs. Sometimes I think I lose track of time too easily. Or maybe I just like to sit in mac and read TODAY. Deposited my tray at the tray station. I wonder why people don't do it more often, it's not as if the station is 987684290 steps away or anything. And clearing our own trays would prevent 'O' level topics from coming out in the exams.

Biology was a little confusing. Something about genetic variation and alleles. A-leels. Not Ah-lay-lay. :P And it's really hard to believe that ms kum was once a math teacher. She can't even do a simple (a+b)(a-b) multiplication. lolz. So we had to do this worksheet about dominant genes and whatnot. I still haven't finished it though. Will finish it by the time you see this post.

Chemistry was kinda fun. Had to try out the experiments that we wrote. Needless to say, there was no way that I could carry mine out (try counting 452 bubbles per second). So I quickly modified my experiment and carried it out. Teck Yang is so noisy sometimes. Hmm. All the time actually. Kept shouting and laughing and stuff. It's good to laugh, but not at the top of your voice and in the midst of an experiment. People might think you were being rude. And Leping broke something. I think.

Used recess and free period to do the A.Math TYS Unit 11(d). It was actually quite simple. Except for one question that I couldn't figure out. Because I momentarily forgot that 3 could be divided by 5 in an equation. Teck Li pointed that out to me. I should do more questions. After all the test is tomorrow. Which reminds me, I have to sneak out of class at around 1540 hrs tomorrow to check that my CCA records are all in order. I wish that they school would arrange more activities for us to allow the rest to get points... but it seems that they want us to take a proactive approach.

D&T wasn't too bad. In fact, we didn't have to stay back for long. All Mr Ong wanted to do was check our progress on our Design Journals. None of us have got very far yet... At least he wasn't angry.

Searched for PowerPoint Backgrounds to spice up my folio. Found about 93621000 and downloaded around 40+. But they do look good. Although not exactly the minimalist feel I wanted.

Stupid WJ. Tell me to stay back for NSP so that he could ask me some chem questions. Then later tell me he dun want to stay back. So fickle minded.

Finished A.Math TYS Unit 12(c). Except for question 4 (ii). I don't understand how to find minimum velocity.

Took .5 hr to type this out. Not too bad really.

Banned commercials. They are the BEST!
This one might have a slight *ahemahem* overtone...

Ooooooo.......

Need to study more. A lot more.
Chemistry mark was a total failure.
E.Math test was okay. I think I will get a couple of questions wrong.
Stupid CCA points. 16 points. Need 4 more to get an A. Where am going to find them?
And information on how the CCA point system works is sketchy to say the least.

Chinese Listening Comprehension 'O' Level Examination today. I wouldn't say it was difficult, but that it was... complex.

Was berated by Mr Ong for pon-ning D&T today. Along with cheng boon and zu'an (actually, only I got scolded, since he called me)

Have a headache right now, so I'm gonna end this post.

This is a title.

Had a dream, but can't remember what it was about.

Had breakfast at mac again... And WJ with his '250 steps more' crap...
Assembly was for the most, unremarkable. Except when 2 students put on a 'mini skit' and one of them kept forgetting his lines... kept me entertained for a while. And a certain someone keeps telling students to 'tuck in' their shirts. It's 'tuck' their shirts in, for goodness' sake!

The class had to do that mind-map thingy for a question again. I had no idea what to do for economic cooperation, so I sneaked a peek at someone's book.

Another mock listening comprehension test today... got 9 out of ten. Someone could have had 10 out of 10, if not for a last-minute correction. I wonder who that is? :P

I just hope that tomorrow's exam is as easy, if not easier than all these mock exams we've had.
Went to eat with cheng boon and WJ after school today. Saw ranon and si yuan eating there too.

Anyway, banana phone! I know it's old, but..

I notice that I have less and less stuff to blog about. Maybe it's because I don't want to sit at the computer for hours thinking of what to type and typing what I think.

E.Math test tomorrow... and I still don't understand how to apply similarity :(

Another day.

Friday.
Yes.
The day.

A.Math paper is screwed. :( I think I might not pass it.
I noticed that my recent test results have not been promising. I must do more to rectify this situation. Like, do the TYS 964702384 times for all subjects.

Did standing broad jump during PE today. The first few times, I didn't pass it... only got 190 cm :( I mean like, wth, how do they expect normal people to jump such incredible distances? And I don't think that in a 'real life situation', you will need to jump with both legs.
Point is, I passed it by 2 cm. At least it was better than teck li :) According to Mr Teo, we'll be doing chin-ups next week.. I have got to figure out how to do at least 1-3. Because I really want to pass my NAPFA test for once.

Had the VJC talk today. I thought it was actually quite informative. The principal was quite... feisty, so to speak. I got asked questions two times... -.-
If I were to believe what the principal said, then VJC is about getting a good education and having fun at the same time. But I find that a little hard to believe. Don't ask me why, it's just a kind of subconscious feeling that JC life is tough... very tough.
Good news for all those who want to enter VJC!!! They'll be upgrading their facilities when we get there!! Whoopee for a lack of facilities!
Sarcasm aside, I really don't like the fact that if we go to VJC, we have to suffe- I mean endure another 2 years without proper facilities.

Didn't go to D&T today cause there was no point. Walked home instead.

Forgot to bring my wallet today... So I got locked out of my house... Had to walk back to the swimming complex to get the keys from my bro. Oh, do shut up cheng boon. You also got locked out. But at least you have a lovely imaginary girlfriend to keep you company. Sorry for interrupting your precious moments with her. Be very careful though, because she could end up like this:

Was almost late for school today. I notice that lately, I've been "almost late for school" a lot of times. Luckily, some teacher was also late for school, so they had to open the back gate for her. I was able to slip through as well.

A.Math was the first period for today. Sorry it took so long for my Misc. Ex. 21 to come through, Mrs Pong! I promise that I will hand in work on time, and not be influenced by someone.

Aww.. Ms Zahra wasn't available for english today... All the work that we did for her was in vain... /sarcasm

Mrs teh spent like 15 minutes waiting for the whole class to get down to the lab, and spent another 15-25 minutes lecturing us on the importance of the 'O' level. I know that it's important, and that I should do more. And then she used another 15 minutes to go through the homework that she set us yesterday. Which left us with some 5 minutes for the notes... :(

Got a 27 for the E.Math test. :( :( :(

AND WTF IS THE SCHOOL SMOKING!! WE DID NOT LEAVE THE AIR-CON ON ON TUESDAY AT 1230 HRS!!! I WILL BRING THIS MATTER TO CASE!!!

Why are you reading this?

Need.. to... study...
I seriously need to get back into studying. Realised how much I have slipped over the holidays..
Is it true that there's an A.Math test tomorrow?

Mr Lim used a 'new' teaching method for history and SS today. Apparently, the classes under Mdm Aljunied's gri- I mean care, have been using it for a long time. I thought it was a pretty good way to teach us.

Ms Kum flared up today 'cause we didn't do our SPA skill 3. Most of us, anyway. I only had to finish the conclusion.. :( And I saw some people who definitely did not finish it at home though they said they did. I guess she gave them the BOD.

Wasted my time at D&T again. Could only think of 1 more problem situation. But I helped Teck Li 'sand' his metal piece. Got a blister from that. Thanks a LOT.

Wanted to go NSP at first. But then I realised that I can study just as well, if not better, at home. So I didn't go.

Anyway, video!

'Twas a Sunday.

Youth day tomorrow! Yippee for all youths! It's great to be young.

For some reason, I really feel a little sad at my own physical state. I mean, come on, I have a Gold Star certificate from NASSA and look at me. I should be at least 5 kg lighter. I don't know my current weight. The last I checked, it was hovering at around 62 kg. And I'm not sure if I still know how to swim 100 meters with attire in under 2.5 min. The reason why I quit swimming was to take tuition for my A.Math, which sucked horribly. That was back in Sec 3.

I really want to start exercising. Is walking back home after school every day enough? I don't think so... Cycling seems like a fun alternative, save 3 reasons:
1. I don't have a bike anymore..
2. I don't have close friends who have bicycles/know how to bike/are willing to bike.
3. WHERE TO FIND THE TIME!!!!

ARGGH!!!!!

Okok there's a test on Tuesday. Gotta study for that. But first, to continue my Ugly Betty 2 marathon. :)

lololololol

Interesting, no dreams today. Oh well, I didn't want a nightmare anyway.

Had PE today. Mr Teo wasn't here today, so a Mr Tan took over (no, not the DM). Proceeded with our NAPFA test, which at that moment of time, was only 1/5 complete. The girls and me and kaijie had already completed the Sit-and-Reach competency, but we (me and kaijie) redid it with the rest of the boys. Managed to beat my previous score by 1 cm, which brings me to 47cm. Lols. Haha, kaijie still can't reach 35 cm. Loser :P jkjk.
Aww.... someone got called "Mark" again today. Poor thing.
OMGWT*BBQ!!! Sylvia is super elastic. She is freaking flexible, like she got no bones or what. Beat her own record by 7 cm!!! It's like she streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetched all the way there.

Biology was pretty normal today. Had to write an experiment, "To investigate if carbon dioxide is given off during aerobic respiration". I realised that chemistry is TONS easier than bio. The papers are easier. You only need to grasp the concepts. And chem SPA is waaaaaaay less taxing than bio SPA.
Ms Kum confiscated jon's chocolate milk. Lols, he's a 'selfish boy' for not sharing it with the class. But he can always get back at her by showing her a lizard :P

!&#&%INFG^#HNFN*(^#$*(!!!!!!
Stupid school, reserve the VJC talks specially for the R1-R3 ppl. Leaving the rest to wallow in our grief. I mean sorrow. Or whatever.
Mr Lim exploded in class today. Not literally though. "THIS IS NOT A BUFFET! MAKE UP YOUR BLOODY MIND!" Then he calmed down. It's ok Mr Lim, our class can be very inattentive and picky sometimes.
Heard from TTY that Ngee Ann poly has an unlimited budget? o.0 So like his sis applied for approval to get a spotlight that costs $50,000. And the school approved. And bought two! I was like WTH!!! So rich. Apparently Ngee Ann Kongsi has too much money to burn.

Quoted from Wikipedia (not the most reliable source):
The Kongsi contributes 75% of its yearly surplus to the polytechnic; and todate, it has donated about $100 million to the polytechnic.
Note the lack of a space between 'to' and 'date'.

Mr Lim (our principal, not form teacher) ordered all of us down for a special meeting at our wonderful open-air luxurious (not!) hall. Recieved our prelim timetable and Night Study Programme (NSP) schedule. WTH!!! D&T collides with Pure Bio!! The ppl who set the timetable obviously didn't see that some people take both Pure Biology and D&T. So anyway, he talked about how we had to push, push, push!! to get to the finish line. And how we had to beat down other schools to get our distinctions. But that's a win-lose mentality, which, according to The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens By Sean Covey, is a defeatist mindset. Life is about relationships, not about who's winning. Do you ever ask your friend: "Who's winning in our relationship, you or me?"

Wasted like 2 hours at school staying back for D&T and not really getting anything out of it.
Managed to do 1 chin-up thanks to cheng boon's helping hand. Thanks a lot!

*Puts on critical thinking cap*

So I reflected, and discovered the reason why I was feeling so downcast. Specifically, my close friends, or lack thereof. I found out that all my old friends aren't really socializing with me anymore (although this is probably because we went to different classes). I can even count the number of times I went out with (or to a gathering of) friends: 3!! (including Tapestry III) But things seem to be a little better. Ranon said hello during chinese yesterday and today before school, and Bing Hong said hi (but then again, he always does :) ). So yeah, I'm feeling loads better now. Time to get off this emo topic.

*Takes off critical thinking cap*

I think I've changed a lot this year. Among other things, I actually feel motivated to do well in all areas.

Signing off to watch Ghost Whisperer.

Whoopee!

Yay! Feeling much better today. Apologies for emo-ing so much yesterday. Must have been examination stress. And that stress caused me to have untoward thoughts, which I shall not post about. In any case, I'm back and better than ever! So on to today's events!

Woke up again, after a strange dream in which I was late for school. Then I looked at the clock and HOLY ****!! It was already 0640 hrs!! And I usually wake at 0530 hrs!! So naturally, I had to rush in order not to be late for school.
So I reached school at around 0713 hrs (I think) and tried to do some A.Math TYS questions. However, due to the 'perfect' environment the class provided, I was unable to do much. So I gave up trying to do them, and instead concentrated on the newspaper. OMG, electricity bills have gone up so much, no wonder our bills are so high, even though we still use about the same amount (at least most of us do).

Lots of 'pasir ris ppl' were late today. From what I gather, it goes something like this.
Setting: Bus 81.
Characters: Dunman, TPJC, Coral, NASians. (there might have been others)
An old auntie starts hollering at the passengers of the bus to move to the rear.
The NASians dutifully obey. However, the rest of the students from the other schools do not comply.
Auntie : *starts cursing at all the passengers and holds up the entire bus*
This goes on for another 90268530 minutes.
Finally, the bus sets off.
NASians attempt to sneak into school undetected, but alas! HE finds them and gives them detention.
HE: "Not happy? Go write letters to those schools!"
NASians: ...

Am running short of time, so I'll sum this up real quick.
Kar Yaow's a disrespectful and immature kid. So said Ms Kum.
To all ppl who think you can handle pain: Go and have a complete facial. then you will know the meaning of pain.

Anyway, gotta do my math, otherwise Teck Yang's gonna take the blame for me not handing in my homework.

Screw this.

Not the best of days. Especially what with the chinese oral examination. But more on that later.
Woke up from a bad dream after Teck Yang showed me that picture. Had me tossing and turning all night. And when I finally did fall asleep, it was a nightmare.
I can't remember much. But one part stands out the most.
I was hanging from a ?rope?, helping to arrange some ?banners? in the air. Someone was helping me, but I don't remember who. Then suddenly I was ?bitten? by a ?Seviper? and I fell to the ground. I quickly recovered and took out a syringe that contained the antidote. But before I could administer it, something happened.
That's pretty much all that I can recall.

Had another Sausage McMuffin. This time I had the iced milo. However, it seems to have lost its appeal to me...
WJ said that he would be at mac in 30 steps. More like 300 steps, the amount of time he took.
Ms kum wasn't here today for bio. Wonder why. Since she wasn't here, we had to do a worksheet on plant reproduction. All the info could be obtained from the textbook.

Went down to the chem lab; however, mrs teh told us to go to the B1 lab. Blasphemy! A chemistry lesson in a biology lab? Then she instructed me to bring the class files up. So, being the helpful boy I am, I obliged. The rest of the class didn't arrive for another 10 min. We were supposed to design an experiment to find out which shell (X or Y) had more carbonate in it. Didn't really know what to do, so I just followed the outline of the previous worksheet and finished it in 30 min. Was bored, so I decorated my worksheet with subtle effects.

Used the recess and free period to continue my previous post.

English was totally unexpected. When ms zahra came in, cheng boon was chasing zu an cos zu an and teck li ganged up on cb to tickle him. Then when ms zahra was going through the prelim paper, there was a scuffle at the back of the class. That, I think, was the last straw. She asked in a dangerous voice:
Your class still has this attitude, even though the prelims are near. Does that mean that it will get worse when the 'O' levels come? (not her exact words)
To which someone gave a reply that sounded like 'yes' (he later clarified that he had said 'stress')
Her voice grew stronger, and the class stopped their idle chatter. She went on about a very emotional and down-to-earth talk about why english is so important, and how she was trying to make it interesting for all of us, instead of just bombing us with work and constantly reminding us how english was important for the exams. I think she was quite fed up with our class. I know I would have been.
Then, as suddenly as it had started, her 'mood swing' passed and she was back to normal, even adding that we were a fun class.

Lol. Mr Chee still remembers me. Asked me if my specs were of a particular brand. And mrs pong is so friendly and approachable. No wonder every class wants her as their teacher. Wonder why ours can't appreciate her more.

Yes.
=================================
Chinese 'O' Level Oral Examination 2008
=================================
One word.
****.

Lol.. Someone got called 'Mark'. Aw.. People keep on saying the wrong name.
Was so nervous throughout the whole thing. I was watchin each one of them, getting called up to meet their fate. 'Mark' emerged very red-faced.. I wonder why.
I counted my heartbeats. ZOMG! 120 beats per second. It's a miracle I didn't drop dead.
When it was my turn, I just rushed through the whole thing. Did very badly, according to myself. Will not elaborate.

Was very emo today. Most probably because of the oral exam. I was preoccupied with the exam the whole day. Well, maybe because I was thinking about what someone said to me during english. That's part of the reason why I (partially) changed one piece of the layout of the blog.

So promise me that we'll remain friends even after we part ways. We must meet up again, regardless of how busy we are. Only then can true friendship be formed.

Ok emo phase over.
Gotta sign off now. Otherwise, I won't be able to get the 6 points.

So yeah, I changed the heading.

Woke up at 0528 hrs after a highly disturbing dream, bordering on sick, freaking and just plain unsettling. The dream went on something like this:
*something happens*
I'm going up to my home by means of an elevator (strange, considering that lately, I've been taking the stairs). Even stranger, the elevator is going downwards instead of upwards. So, when the elevator went down to my floor, I knew that the something would happen, and it did. The lift got jammed at my floor. Then suddenly I was outside the lift, and walking down the stairs in my uniform. Walking, walking, then I chanced upon a woman and her ?son? I think. I was watching, mesmerised for some reason, when a man appeared. I was forced to watch as the man pulled out a pistol and shot the boy first, followed by the woman. Then I think I woke up.

It was damn disturbing. I swear I was shivering when I woke up. So for some reason, I decided to take a hot shower, even though I told myself that I would never take a hot one again (hey, it's to save the earth!). Felt so good, I forgot how great hot showers were. Had my usual fill of Sausage McMuffin and Coffee from mac. Picked coffee since I didn't feel like drinking iced milo today. Used a voucher that we (me, esrinda and cheng boon) won from that sumo robot competition to buy myself 2 lecture pads, 2 black pens (since I was all out) and a new set of french curves (mine broke last year). First lesson was chemistry. As usual, kaijie and I were the first to reach the chem lab (although I was earlier). And as usual, the class took 15 minutes to get down to the chemistry lab, so that 15 minutes was wasted. Why can't the class get down earlier, like in the first few lessons of the year, when the whole class got to the lab in 5 minutes flat. Those days were much more enjoyable. Mrs Teh used the first 15 minutes to show us some old newspaper cuttings dating from around the year 2000 to 2003 on renewable energy resources. It made me realise, wow, singapore really is doing a lot to try and be environmentally friendly and reduce carbon emissions. She showed us a design of a bus that Singapore considered importing, good thing it didn't, since it used hydrogen (a lot of it, in fact the entire roof was devoted to holding hydrogen canisters. If a spark ignited there, it would be GG for the passengers of the bus, the bus and the vehicles/people around it.) Then we went straight into organic chemistry. Drugs, plastics, cloth, etc are made of organic compounds, since they have carbon in it. Is that right? Then she introduced us to different types of structures for carbon molecules, since carbon has to be so extra and have 4 electrons in its outer shell. So it can create 4+ or 4- (is that right?) ions, and link up with some 4385y324571--779732498 hydrogen ?ions?atoms?dunno. The whole structure of organic molecules thing is sooo confusing, luckily I know I will get it right eventually. We were told that organic chem need lots of 'memory', and that most of it has been taken out. Good riddance, I don't like rote learning (even though some 63% of the school syllabus is based on that).

So next was A.Math. Didn't take up my notes cause I understand the Intercept Theorem. Unlike a certain someone... heh. Not much to say here. Then came E.Math. Hah, someone got shooed away, cause someone was taking up shakilah's seat. Were supposed to take out the Peicai paper and ask Mrs Pong if we had questions, so I took out my file and WTH! It wasn't in there!!! And I had like finished the whole paper already, except for like 4 questions. So I was forced to sit there and wait until the lesson was over. -.- For some reason, felt very very very very very very very sleeeeepy during the whole day. (Don't worry Mr Lim, it's not your fault. I was just super sleepy, even though I slept early yesterday.) Amanda was called up to give her answer for 1a) of the SBCS. I actually thought it was... dare I say it? Lousy XP (sorry amanda!). But she still got 4-5 out of 6. So does that mean my answer, which was 'okay', would have had 5-6 out of 6?

Updating from school: Teck Yang got owned by a soccer ball from jinliang (I think) who was trying to steal his family jewels. OH, so painful, he's all in Stitches now. Haha. And during English he and izzad got caught by ms zahra for poking each other and doing the loser sign. Haha, what a loser (not you izzad). Nothing much to say about chinese, wasn't very interesting, as usual.

Then D&T started. Surprise, surprise, the room was already open, even though it was another 25 minutes till the lesson started. I was first, followed by someone whose name doesn't quite fit her character. So obviously, I got started soon, since I wanted to finish by today. Was joined by the r7 people shortly after. At first I thought esrinda wasn't here today, but was proven wrong when she suddenly popped up from nowhere. Said that she had gone home to put her stuff down. So anyway, i continued to apply lacquer to the piece of wood that I was going to use as the base of my artefact. Then Mr Ong asked me where zu an, teck li and cb were. I tolde him they were going to DSA, but apparently, it wasn't till much later, so they arrived anyways. Cheng Boon was continuing to work of his piece that had broken some 76503610 times before and so had to redo it every single time.
Then me, esrinda, jie eng and melissa sat down at one of the tables and started talking about all sorts of things. Es said that she had finished watching all episodes of Pushing Daisies, so that means... *gasp* she watched it online! Illegally! Then Jie eng started telling me some sort of ghost story. It goes something like this:
There was this guy with this girlfriend A. Then he started an affair with another girl, and ditched A. So A threatened to commit suicide if they broke up. But he left her anyway. So one night, while he and his new gf were sitting on the couch watching tv and kissing, the tv program was interrupted by a news flash. A girl had just jumped off a building, and had landed head-first. So the guy's friend (not the gf) phoned him and told him that, when sleeping, you must sleep under the bed, because ghosts cannot bend their spine, and so she would not be able to find him. At first, he didn't care about it, and when night came, he slept with his gf (get your mind out of the gutter!) on the bed. Then, at twilight, he was woken by this sound outside his room.
THUMP! THUMP! 你在哪里。。?

So he became very scared. Then he remembered what his friend said about sleeping under the bed. So he quickly scrambled under the bed and shut his eyes, his heart hammering with fear.
Then he felt a cold presence in his room, and a chill wind blew. Listening intently, he heard this:

找不到。。。
Feeling safe, he opened his eyes.
找到了!
Then he died. Why was the ghost of the dead girl able to find him?
Cause the girl landed head-first, so her head was on the ground, not on the top. Stupid right?
Anyway, another story (real life!). Happened to *coughmelissacough*
There was a one Melissa, aged 10 years 21 weeks 2 days 9 hours and 17 minutes old.
She was watching television in her room, and got very sleepy. So she turned off the television. Then she shut her eyes. Barely more than a minute later, the television turned on by itself. So she got up and turned it off again. Then she went to sleep again, and then it turned on again.
Freaked out, she retreated to a corner and turned off the main power. To her dismay, the tv started alternating between on and off mode. So she whipped out her handphone and smsed her mum who was in the adjacent room (because she was scared to make any sound or movement) to come over. She then pulled up her blankets over her head.
Moments later, her mum entered the room. Melissa shouted out, "Mummy! The TV!"
The television was still flickering. Then her mum went over to Melissa's bed, picked up something, and the tv stopped flickering.
Why?
The remote was faulty. So the tv kept switching.
Then why did the tv not turn off when Melissa switched off the main power?
Her mum pointed out her mistake: she had turned off the wrong switch.
Double lame right?

Then es asked me, do you want to go to poly or JC?
She said that initially, she wanted to go to a JC. But after the aforementioned organic chemistry, she reconsidered her choice, since half of the 'A' level chemistry requires organic chem.

Then Jie eng told me a very cold joke. It goes like this:
小明走在路边。
突然,他的脚很酸。
为什么?
因为他踩到了棱檬。
Ha ha......

Was using the glue gun to glue the acrylic glass and the rubber thing together, so I had to peel off the covering. Then I glued the joints; however, the first few results were less than desirable.
Joint 1. Came apart quickly, so I redid it.
Joint 2. Stronger, but still very wobbly, and redid it.

Was peeling the covering off acrylic piece -4- when Jie eng and melissa suddenly wanted to peel it off instead. So being the kind-hearted person I am, I allowed them to peel it off.
Big mistake.
Instead of coming off in one nice piece, it came off in bits and pieces, and looked totally urgh. So I had to ask esrinda to salvage it. Thanks esrinda!
And yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy!!!!! The artefact is complete.
